Was Your Long Term Disability Claim Denied by AIG?

AIG (American International Group) is a huge insurance company which offers long term disability policies, mainly through employers or group associations. Those policies provided through employers are usually governed by ERISA. Those policies provided through medical or professional associations are exempt from ERISA.

They offer long term disability insurance products underneath the AIG Benefit Solutions umbrella, but you may see different names on their documents, such as American General Life Insurance Company of Delaware, American General Life Insurance Company, The United States Life Insurance Company in the City of New York, or National Union Fire Insurance Company. There are many different names due to the different insurance laws in each state.

As big as they are, they are also one of the most hated companies. According to the  Harris Poll 2016 Reputation Quotient, AIG scored a 61.15, which rates it as “Poor” in reputation. This reputation probably stems in part due to the huge bailout by the US government in 2008.

It may also be due to it’s poor customer service.

The main business model for insurance companies is to take in as much money as they can, in the form of premiums. But to be profitable, they need to pay as little as they can, in claims and benefits. This is why each state has its own department of insurance. Without it, insurance companies would just deny all sorts of legitimate claims and benefits.

If your disability claim was denied or terminated, we are here to help you. Call the Disability Legal Center at (866) JOE-DANG or (866) 563-3264 now, to schedule your free, no obligation claim review. Or fill out the contact form on this page.

AIG will gladly sell you disability insurance, but will they gladly pay disability benefits?

AIG most likely approves more disability claims than they deny. But their claims analysts re trained to look for any reason to deny or delay claims payments. You need to be prepared and understand that any weakness in your application may cause AIG to deny your disability benefits.

Of course AIG will deny valid claims. If they didn’t, disability lawyers wouldn’t have a job. They deny valid claims hoping disabled workers just give up and move on. That’s just pure profit for AIG.

Unfortunately, many people do give up. And the company gets away with padding their bottom line at the expense of their premium paying insureds.

AIG Wants You To Quit Fighting For Your LTD Benefits – We Won’t Let You

If AIG denied your application for long term disability benefits, or they unfairly terminated your LTD benefits, we can help you with the appeal. The appeal process is not to be taken lightly, because any future ERISA lawsuit, if necessary, will rely on the evidence you provided in the appeal. There are also strict time requirements that must be met.

So if you received a denial letter, or a termination letter, give us a call immediately, or fill out the contact form on this page.
